At Blue Sky Fostering, we understand that the journey into adulthood can be especially challenging for post-18 year olds leaving foster care. We are exploring new ways that we can support these young people further, and are currently excited to be running a six-month trial with The Path to Independence – an inspiring new app designed to help young people transition successfully from care. The innovative new phone app empowers young people that are moving into their own home with the tools, confidence and knowledge they need to thrive on their own terms.

As Dougie puts it, “Young people leaving care often don’t have the same safety nets as others. We want them to feel seen, heard and capable of building a strong, secure future.”
